Teen Therapy: A space that’s just theirs
Therapy for teens in Brockville and virtually across Ontario.
Teen Counselling in Brockville, ON
Being a teenager is a lot. School, friendships, social media, family, and the pressure to figure out who you are while everyone is watching. Some teens carry much more than the adults around them realize, and many are very good at looking fine.
Therapy gives teens a place to talk with someone who isn’t a parent or a teacher, and who’s genuinely curious about their world. We take them seriously, and we go at their pace.
For Teens
You don’t need a big reason to come. You can talk about whatever is on your mind, and you get a say in how sessions go.
For Parents
Reaching out on your teen’s behalf is an act of care. We’ll talk with you about how you’d like to be involved, and how we balance your teen’s privacy with keeping you informed.

What We Work With
Teen Therapy FAQs
Q. What ages do you see?
We see teens from age 12 and up.
Q. Will I know what my teen talks about in therapy?
What your teen shares is kept private, which helps them feel safe to be honest. If there’s ever a concern about their safety, we will let you know. At the start, we’ll talk together about how you’d like to stay involved.
Q. My teen doesn’t want to go. Should I still book?
It’s common for teens to feel unsure. A first session is a chance to see what it’s like, with no pressure to continue. Sometimes meeting the therapist makes it feel less daunting.
Q. Can teens do sessions online?
Yes. Virtual sessions are available for teens anywhere in Ontario.
Meet the Clinicians
Each of these clinicians works with this area. If you’re not sure who to choose, we’re happy to help you find a good match.

Mackenzie Howard, RP (Qualifying)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Mackenzie works with adolescents and adults who are exhausted from always being the strong one, who overthink conversations, worry about disappointing people, and struggle to put themselves first without guilt. She helps people move out of people-pleasing, perfectionism, anxiety, and self-doubt, and toward healthier boundaries, more trust in their own judgment, and more peace day to day.

Karen Gillis, MSW, MA, RSW
Social Worker
Karen works with teens, students, young adults, and professionals navigating perfectionism, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, and burnout. Many of the people she sees are capable and driven, and used to holding things together even when they’re overwhelmed, overthinking everything, or exhausted from trying to keep up.
Other Areas of Support
Most people come in with more than one thing on their mind.

Anxiety
Anxiety usually learned its job somewhere. Therapy is a place to understand where, and what it has been trying to protect.

Depression
Depression often makes sense once the whole story is on the table. We start there, without pressure to feel better faster than you’re ready to.

OCD
When your mind gets stuck on a loop, and the rituals that ease it start running the show.
