Grief Counselling: Grief isn’t something to fix
Grief counselling in Brockville and virtually across Ontario, for loss of every kind.
Grief Counselling in Brockville, ON
Loss comes in many forms: the death of someone you love, the end of a relationship, a change in your health, or a life that turned out differently than you expected. There’s no right way to grieve, and no timeline you’re supposed to follow.
Grief affects the body, the mind, and the way you move through the world. We offer a place to talk about the person or the life you’ve lost, to feel what comes up, and to find ways of carrying it forward.
Making Room for It
Drawing on narrative, relational, and emotion focused approaches, we make space to tell the story of your loss, feel what it has stirred up, and explore what it has meant to you.
What Comes After
Loss often changes who we are and how we live. We walk alongside you as you find your footing in what comes next.
The Experience of Grief
Grief touches every part of life. Some common experiences include:
- Deep sadness, or an unexpected emptiness
- Anger, guilt, or a sense of unfairness
- Physical exhaustion and changes in sleep
- Trouble focusing, sometimes called grief brain
- Pulling away from people
- Questions about meaning, faith, or what matters now
Losses We Support
Grief and Loss FAQs
Q. How do I know if my grief is “normal”?
Grief doesn’t follow a straight line, and there’s no normal timeline. If it feels stuck, overwhelming, or lonely, talking with someone can help you carry it.
Q. Can therapy help with what I’ve lost?
Therapy can’t give back what’s gone. It can offer a place to honour it, and to find a way of carrying the loss that feels more bearable over time.
Q. What is disenfranchised grief?
It’s grief that other people don’t always recognize, like the loss of a pet, a pregnancy, a relationship others didn’t understand, or your own health. Every loss is welcome here.
